I visited Uncle’s Treasure Intestines in the Grilled Intestines Alley in Guri, where we had a gathering. Along with the friendly service of Auntie, the delicious pork skewers were an added bonus.
Uncle’s Treasure Intestines wasn’t a place I was particularly familiar with; I just quickly searched on Naver and decided on it as our destination. I had prior knowledge that there was a famous intestines alley near the Guri Market, which proved helpful.
About 50 meters away from Guri Station, Uncle’s Treasure Intestines is situated in the intestines alley near Guri Stone Bridge. There were about ten or so intestines shops operating in that alley, and we aimed for the ones with more people.
The menu included pork intestines hot pot, charcoal-grilled skewers, vegetable intestines, egg intestines, sundae intestines, ox bones, boneless chicken feet, sundae stir-fry, and stir-fried rice. The only regret was the absence of steamed eggs. However, there’s a second branch nearby, which is worth considering.
We ordered salt-grilled skewers, which came with seasoning sauce and dongchimi broth.
The place was filled with scribbles, adding to its charm. The old-fashioned cash register and the numerous accolades from the patrons spoke volumes about its popularity.
The first choice on the menu was the salt-grilled skewers. Today, we decided to go for a second round. Meeting old business acquaintances, we aimed to fully savor Guri skewers.
The unforgettable taste of the skewers, infused with the smoky flavor along with the green onions, lingered in our memory. They were tender, chewy, and had a rich flavor.
Indeed, salt-grilled skewers are the best. The fact that the Guri skewers weren’t overly tough was a charming aspect for me.
The combination of skewers and garlic is unbeatable, I quietly exclaimed.
Continuously moving our chopsticks, we devoured the skewers until the empty grill was in sight. With the belief that not a single skewer should be left behind, we savored the last skewer in the Guri Intestines Alley.
Even though we were already full from the skewers, we couldn’t resist ordering stir-fried rice. I would have regretted it if we hadn’t ordered it.
As we wait for the day we meet again in the Guri Stone Bridge Intestines Alley…
Located in Guri Market’s Stone Bridge Intestines Alley, Uncle’s Treasure Intestines provided a satisfying experience.
Pork intestines skewers are a type of dish typically made from pig intestines. They are usually cleaned, seasoned, and grilled over charcoal before being served. These skewers are known for their savory and chewy texture, making them a popular choice as a side dish with alcoholic beverages. They are commonly found in Korean pubs and eateries and are enjoyed with drinks like soju or beer.
[Personal Review]
✔ Uncle’s Treasure Intestines is located in the Stone Bridge Intestines Alley, right across from Guri Station. While parking is available at Guri Market’s public parking lot, it’s a bit cramped, so using other nearby public parking lots is recommended.
✔ While the intestines hot pot seems to be the main dish, I recommend trying the charcoal-grilled skewers as well; they come with a special smoky flavor.
