Starbucks Gana Art Park branch in Jangheung Valley, Gyeonggi-do.

☕ A Serene Coffee Break at Starbucks Gana Art Park – Hidden Gem in Jangheung Valley

If you ever find yourself near Jangheung Valley in Gyeonggi-do, looking for a peaceful café to relax after a stroll or hike, let me introduce you to a truly special spot: Starbucks Gana Art Park. More than just your typical Starbucks, this branch blends coffee, nature, and art into one relaxing experience.

📍 Location & Vibe

Nestled in the heart of Yangju’s Jangheung-myeon, this Starbucks is located right next to Gana Art Park, a well-known art space surrounded by lush mountains and a tranquil valley. The store itself is housed in a charming log-cabin-style building, immediately catching your eye with its warm wood tones and natural ambiance.

As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted with the familiar comfort of Starbucks, but with a twist—high ceilings, wooden interiors, and a cozy, rustic feel that makes it feel more like a mountain lodge than a coffee chain. The atmosphere is calm, spacious, and filled with natural light—perfect for slow sips and quiet conversations.

🖼️ Art Meets Coffee

One of the most unique features of this branch is the mini exhibition space inside. Because it’s located beside Gana Art Park, small-scale art exhibitions are held regularly right within the café. When I visited, there was a solo exhibit by artist Lee Sara, featuring expressive, thought-provoking pieces that added a touch of culture to my coffee break. Even if you’re not an art lover, it’s a pleasant surprise and something you won’t see at most Starbucks locations.

☕ Coffee, Goods & Seating

On the drink side, you can expect the full Starbucks menu, of course. I had my usual iced Americano (again!), but I’ve got my eye on the Sea Salt Caramel Cold Brew for next time—it seems like a perfect match for the cozy surroundings.

There’s also a great selection of seasonal tumblers, mugs, and locally-inspired goods, including some embroidered pouches and Korean-style tumblers that would make great souvenirs.

The seating is generous and thoughtfully arranged. If the weather’s nice, I highly recommend grabbing a spot on the second-floor terrace. The view of the surrounding trees and parts of the art park is lovely—though there are a few power lines that slightly interrupt the scenery, it’s still a great place to unwind.

The wooden aroma from the log-cabin structure is quite strong on the second floor, giving off a very cabin-in-the-woods vibe. Depending on your preference, you might find it relaxing—or a bit intense—but for me, it added to the overall charm.

🚗 Parking & Practical Info

Parking is available both behind and in front of the store. The lot directly in front doesn’t appear to be official Starbucks parking, but many visitors use it without issue.

Opening hours:
🕘 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
(Compared to other branches, it opens a bit later and closes earlier.)

🏡 A Touch of Local Flavor

Near the entrance, I noticed what looked like an old traditional Korean house. I’m not entirely sure of its purpose, but it felt like a preserved piece of local heritage—adding another layer of character to the area.

💬 Final Thoughts

Starbucks Gana Art Park is not your average coffee stop. It’s a blend of art, nature, and comfort, offering a truly refreshing escape from the city. Whether you’re out exploring Jangheung Valley, visiting the nearby Gana Art Park, or just craving a coffee in a peaceful, artistic setting, this place is absolutely worth a visit.
