A place ideal for strolling at the Noeul Moonlight Festival along Danghyeoncheon in Nowon, Seoul.

The Noeul Moonlight Festival opened in Nowon in 2023. As you walk along the Danghyeoncheon stream, which stretches from Sanggye Station to Junggye Station, you can enjoy numerous artworks and have a healing experience while naturally strolling through the area, losing track of time as you get engrossed in each piece.

From Sanggye Station’s Mathematical Culture Center to Junggye Children’s Park

If you’re using public transportation, Sanggye or Junggye Station is the most convenient.

Artwork depicting fish, particularly carp, can be found along Danghyeoncheon. The stream has transformed into a beautiful urban waterway where you can encounter various fish species such as carp, crucian carp, tilapia, stone moroko, and white-spotted charr.

Seeing it in person is even more beautiful, and it’s a pity that it can’t be captured as nicely in photos.

Walking along the Danghyeoncheon promenade provides both exercise and a delightful time appreciating fantastic art pieces.

Near Junggye Station, you can find a charming tree-lined street adorned with beautiful lighting.

I’ve been coming here since 2020, and it seems to get upgraded slightly every year. When it first started, it had a strong commercial vibe, but now that’s no longer the case, which is great.

From in front of Sanggye Station’s Mathematical Culture Center to Junggye Station

Various beautiful artworks are arranged along the middle of Danghyeoncheon, creating a feeling of strolling in the moonlight.

The Noeul Festival features paths both along the river and above it, allowing for a delightful walk along the upper path from Junggye or Sanggye Stations.

The overall route typically takes about an hour, one way.

The illuminations are on until 10 PM.

There are plenty of great photo spots throughout the area.

There were more people than expected, but it wasn’t uncomfortably crowded.

The Noeul Moonlight Festival happens every year, but it offers a different experience each time it opens.
