A Night in Sokcho, Gangwon Province

I felt the need for a delicious dinner at a place I haven’t been to in a while.

So, the menu I chose was none other than crab.

These days, it’s the season for crab.

Located within the basic taxi fare distance from Sokcho Central Market was Sokcho’s Dongmyeong Port crab restaurant.

It wasn’t too far from my accommodation.

As I was walking, I’ve had my eye on this place for a while.

A restaurant acknowledged by numerous celebrities.

Isn’t this enough for a certification shot?

Large crabs and king crabs in the aquarium.

The tanks were well-maintained.

Finally, I could enjoy a sumptuous dinner with crab after a long time.

Seeing crab after a while made my heart flutter. lol

The menu consisted of imported crab with sashimi set and various dipping sauces.

For two people, 150,000 won was sufficient.

Additionally, there were options like king crab, snow crab, hairy crab, etc., where you could experience various crab dishes.

First came the nutritious porridge and the clean seaweed soup.

A heaven of dipping sauces.

There were crab salad, potato pancakes, corn, shrimp tempura, potato tempura, and more.

This isn’t the end.

Corn salad – an appetizer that would be missed if absent.

Detailed shots from left to right – shrimp tempura, potato pancake, crab salad, buckwheat pancake (offering a taste different from crab).

Scallop cheese grill, grilled yellow corvina – when eaten as appetizers, they spread a sweet and savory flavor in the mouth.

My favorite grilled fish was also served.

Completing the full set except for crab.

As it takes about 20 minutes to steam the crab, I enjoyed a glass of soju with dipping sauces until then.

Sashimi, oysters, abalone, sea squirt, and snails – meeting a seafood paradise here.

The scallop cheese grill was a real drink-stealer.

Indeed, men need oysters.

They’re good for stamina due to their high zinc content.

For women, it’s said to be good for skincare.

Seaweed and snails – reminiscing about them briefly, their taste is still lingering.

Fresh abalone was basic.

The sashimi had a matured taste.

While already full from the dipping sauces, I found myself pondering when to eat sashimi and how to eat Sokcho-style steamed crab.

Chili paste with vinegar and a glass of soju go perfectly.

It’s fun to roll and eat – a real joy.

Snails and flat periwinkles.

Finally, the appearance of the huge crab.

The yield was quite good.

It was worth the wait.

I immediately asked for crab shell rice.

Quick and considerate~~

“A spoonful already has a strong flavor.”

Taking out the thick front leg meat like this makes it delicious.

They made cuts in between the crab for easy eating.

Crab shell rice – mixed with a little bit of innards and seasoning, it came out deliciously.

It transformed into a rice thief.

Ah~~ This is what rice is for. lol

Crab ramen.

It came out filled with broth made from crab flavor.

Preparing the bubbling crab ramen.

They also added crab meat that had been rolled in crab shell rice separately.

After drinking a few bottles of soju, there’s no need for a hangover soup.

“The spicy and rich broth is a bonus.”

After the meal, at Yeonggeumjeong in Sokcho.

You can see the beautiful night view of Dongmyeong Port at a glance.
