Since more than ten years ago, It’s a place that’s been in my memory. Even before Sokcho Market improved as it is now, It was a place that had already established itself in the market, And I found myself visiting it again after a long time.

And, When I stopped by Sokcho Central Market again, I found out that it was the 13th protagonist of “Tough Life – Commoner Millionaire” aired on March 14, 2015.

It’s a place that locals especially frequent as a dakgangjeong (sweet and spicy fried chicken) hotspot in Sokcho Central Market.

“Sokcho Central Market Dakgangjeong Recommendation: Market Chicken Restaurant”

It’s coming back into my sight, “Since 1997.” Yes, it’s been quite a while. Old memories are vivid. It feels like I first went there perhaps through some blogger’s recommendation a long time ago.

Back then, I only got takeout and didn’t post about it, But after a long time has passed, Here I am, presenting Sokcho Market Chicken through my post.

Located near the end of the dakgangjeong alley at Sokcho Tourist & Fisheries Market (Many people also refer to it as Central Market).

I resisted all temptations and made it here. LOL

A market chicken restaurant I came back to because I couldn’t forget. Soon, I’ll taste that flavor again.

They even have tangerine juice and corn makgeolli (Korean rice wine). With the combination of chilled makgeolli and dakgangjeong, It’s impossible for it not to be delicious.

Considerate for the customers, They provide aprons to cover up a bit while you watch.

Right next to it, they’re also grilling delicious nureungji (crispy rice) squid sundae.

I know that taste. It’s the taste of calling for a glass of makgeolli.

Dak Galbi in a cup, A size and quantity that’s perfect for holding and eating on the go.

Milky Kiss, it’s been a while, And I especially like it because it’s Zero.

“I love you, Milky Kiss.” LOL

Next time, I should try both dakgangjeong and shrimp dakgangjeong, Half and half.

I wonder how the shrimp dakgangjeong tastes at Sokcho Central Market? I suddenly became curious. Should I visit Sokcho again because of this? LOL

Various side dishes are prepared, including nureungji squid sundae, Egg water squid sundae, abai sundae (Korean blood sausage), sweet pumpkin sikhye (traditional Korean rice drink), Honey sikhye, Hallabong juice, Cheonhyehyang juice, Omija juice, etc.

There’s really a lot. Enough for three people to eat comfortably. It seems like it would be just right for a family to eat together.

If you feel a little lacking, you can also add a half-size portion of dakgangjeong.

It’s best to open the lid on the side after packaging dakgangjeong. That way, you can prevent the chicken from getting too damp.

I visited one of the oldest dakgangjeong restaurants in Sokcho Central Market.

✔ Among the many dakgangjeong shops in Sokcho Central Market, This was the most suitable place according to my personal taste.

✔ Especially, the garlic dakgangjeong provided a unique taste that couldn’t be found elsewhere.

✔ You can choose from regular, spicy, or honey soy sauce flavors, But I generally recommend the regular flavor.
