Certification of Gwangmyeong’s Gureum San Chueotang Main Branch as a delicious restaurant

It’s been a while since I visited Gwangmyeong’s Gureum San Chueotang Main Branch. I’ve known this place for quite some time now, and it’s still bustling with many people.

The parking lot is managed separately, and even though it’s not small, the location isn’t very convenient for public transportation, so most people prefer to drive.

As a result, the parking space, despite being spacious, may seem cramped.

It’s been so long that my memories are a bit hazy. I think I’ve known this place for almost 20 years.

Does that mean the restaurant has been around for more than 20 years?

Gureum San Chueotang Main Branch is located slightly away from the lively streets of Gwangmyeong, adjacent to a place called Siheung in terms of administrative divisions.

There’s a bus stop nearby, but public transportation is not highly recommended.

The menu includes Chueotang for 11,000 won, Tong Chueotang for 12,000 won, Ddugbaegi Bulgogi for 10,000 won, and for those who can’t have Chueotang, there’s Ddugbaegi Bulgogi.

Gan Jaemi Muchim (seasoned skate) is priced at 14,000 won, and its taste is somewhat similar to hongeo (skate) but more affordable.

Side dishes like kimchi and kkakdugi are delicious. A restaurant with many customers is different, starting from the side dishes.

Garlic and peppers are placed on the table, and it’s good to add them according to your taste. Personally, I recommend a generous amount of garlic.

They provide domestic garlic generously, making you wonder if there will be any profit left.

Unordered Bossam (boiled pork) comes with Chueotang. I briefly thought it used to come with Chueo Twigim (fried chueo) in the past.

Regardless, when you order Chueotang, Bossam and Kongnamul San Yacho (seasoned bean sprouts) come together.

Bossam came out first before Chueotang, but it didn’t take long for Chueotang to appear.

It’s a slightly less thick and somewhat spicy style of Wonju-style Chueotang compared to the thicker Namwon-style.

Somewhere between Namwon-style and Wonju-style…

They also add a bit of perilla seed, and personally, I prefer less perilla seed. It can make the broth a bit too thick.

They provide enough perilla seed to leave you curious about whether there will be any profit left.

Gwangmyeong Gureum San Chueotang Main Branch has a strange charm, and it has a special taste that you can’t experience elsewhere.

There’s a decent amount of Bossam meat. It tastes great when eaten with Kongnamul and San Yacho.

It’s a place where you feel like you’ve had a proper lunch.

After a long time, I finished the soup thoroughly when eating a menu like Chueotang. Maybe because it’s considered a nutritious dish for the body.
