Jami Palace Bakery, a bakery cafe in Incheon that resembles a traditional Korean palace

I came across this bakery cafe by chance while looking for a supplier near Gimpo in Incheon. The presence felt from the traditional Korean palace-like exterior was impressive. Moreover, what I initially thought was a simple traditional restaurant turned out to be a bakery and patisserie. It goes to show that one should not judge a place or thing solely by its appearance.

A remarkably extravagant and stunning exterior

The entrance is incredibly lavish from the start. In fact, at first glance, it felt more like an upscale traditional restaurant rather than an Incheon bakery cafe.

The location of Jami Palace Bakery in Incheon, near Gimpo, was also surprising. Large cafes like this are usually located on the outskirts of the city, but this one is situated in a corner of a villa and studio apartment residential area.

I found myself pondering whether it’s a chicken or an egg – which came first? It was a moment of contemplation.

A parking lot is conveniently set up right in front.

For an establishment of this size, the parking lot is quite extensive. It’s even more spacious than the main area of Jami Palace. It seems they are not particularly strict about parking for those who don’t drive.

Entering the palace-like building

The entrance is quite extravagant.

Winter meant there were few customers in the outdoor seating area, with only tables scattered around. However, on a warm spring day when the March breeze brings warmth, it’s likely to be bustling with many customers.

A somewhat disappointing vinyl house seating area

This area was set up in front of the main building, and I couldn’t help but think, what if they had arranged the outdoor seating in a different way, avoiding the vinyl house? However, upon further reflection, it seemed that the vinyl house was in harmony with the hanok theme.

Or maybe I’m biased against excessive extravagance.

The gate

There is something attached to the gate, but I couldn’t see the Chinese characters clearly. Was it a dragon or a horse?

Small interior decoration at the entrance

It seems to gradually expand, one by one.

The menu board

Despite the extravagant exterior and interior, the prices are generally reasonable. Coffee prices have increased recently, but compared to that…

There is a separate heating system inside, and a harmonious fireplace is also present.

Various pastries are displayed on the main counter.

A variety of bread types are set up for customers to taste. For those who truly love bread, deciding what to eat can be a moment of hesitation.

The most eye-catching and delicious-looking Strawberry Guard.

The unique Turtle Melon Bread

Ah… now that I think about it, the mascot of Incheon Jami Palace is a turtle. Along with the cookie, the turtle contains a sweet melon cream.

From Tiramisu Cake to Chocolate and Fruit Tart, there is a diverse selection.

Hazelnut Cream Cheese and Sticky Rice Cake Creamy

Soft and savory cream cheese, along with sweet rice cake crumbs – typical of Incheon bakery cafes, there is a variety of unique and beautifully decorated bread.

There are both group and individual seats available throughout.

A sweet Cafe Latte and a warm Americano

Tasting a sweet Cafe Latte after a long time, it wasn’t bad at all.

Outdoor seating areas are well-designed.

Between the pretty tile walls and trees, the lights are beautiful. It may feel a bit dull in winter, but in spring to fall, it would be something different.

Fold/Expand Located in Incheon’s Geumdan, this bakery cafe has a special charm with its hanok-style architecture.

Incheon’s Jami Palace Bakery, redolent with the ambiance of a hanok bakery cafe.

[Personal Review]

✅ The parking lot was exceptionally spacious.

(It seemed like there would be enough parking space even for dozens of cars.)

✅ Outdoors, they created a garden with a vinyl house…

It’s somewhat regrettable. If it were a hanok concept, it might have been okay to set up individual seats in the style of a gazebo.

✅ It was not far from Incheon’s outer area but rather close to the developing Geumdan New City. It seemed to be an upscale hanok-based Incheon bakery cafe, located somewhat in the city.
