Today, I welcomed the long-awaited holiday and visited the Yangpyeong Valley in Gyeonggi Province.
It was a place I had visited a long time ago, but revisiting Sanasa Valley with a friend’s recommendation, I found that it had transformed into a more beautiful place with upgraded deck paths from my previous visit.
There was a spacious parking lot at the entrance. However, it’s a bit challenging to carry a lot of belongings from the parking lot to the valley, so it’s recommended to park temporarily if you’re planning to trek.
Sanasa Valley in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do, is not well-known to many people. Surprisingly, it is abundant in water and surrounded by lush forests.
Even in the summer, it tends to be crowded, so keep that in mind.
The public parking lot, located at 319-18 Yongcheon-ri, Okcheon-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, provides ample space, and there is no separate parking fee.
The place had a considerable scale, and facilities such as toilets were well-equipped.
There was a large map at the entrance of the public parking lot, providing information about various attractions in Yangpyeong, making it convenient to see tourist spots at a glance.
In fact, Yangpyeong has more attractions than one might think.
In addition to Sanasa Valley, there are other places to visit nearby, such as the Deulggot Arboretum, Yangpyeong Insect Museum, and Shijapark.
The parking lot, which also had an office, seemed to be well-maintained. There are various relaxing spaces about a 10-minute walk from this location. Taking a cart to move your belongings while walking slowly could be a good idea.
If there is no space to park around the valley, this parking lot can be particularly useful.
Sanasa Valley is also used as one of the hiking courses for Mt. Yongmun in Yangpyeong. Among the six courses, it is the 4th course.
However, it takes about 4 hours, almost the same as conquering Hallasan, which took 5 hours, for reference.
Nearby is Yongcheon-ri Village, and you can also come from Asin Station in the direction of Okcheon Cold Noodle Village or enter from Yangpyeong-eup along National Road 37.
Around the entrance of Sanasa Valley’s public parking lot, there are 2-3 cafes in operation.
Since there is a restroom in the public parking lot, it is convenient.
It is a picturesque place with clear water, making it a good spot for water play. It tends to be less crowded, making it a sought-after place on hot summer days.
It seems suitable for children to play with its shallow depth, but for adults, it may feel a bit cramped.
There is a wide area under the bridge, marked on the map, where water is collected, suitable for playing.
However, compared to the size of a swimming pool, it is relatively small.
There is a road in the middle of the valley where two vehicles cross, making it slightly difficult. Parking along the roadside may lead to parking wars.
Sanasa Valley is overall surrounded by dense forests and has abundant water. Around Yangpyeong in Gyeonggi-do, there are many such valleys suitable for water play.
There is a deck path along the valley, but it is somewhat shorter than expected. You can find it by parking at the public parking lot and walking a short distance.
There is a pension with a soccer field. Although the interior facilities were not confirmed, it seemed to boast a large scale.
Behind the building, there is a large valley pond. It is not exclusive to the pension, but since it is a riverbed, it can be used cleanly.
Even though it is a shallow area, the water quantity is not negligible. It made me wonder if there would be even more people on hot summer days.
While there is no significant deep pool for adults to play, charming natural spots preserving the untouched beauty of the valley are scattered throughout.
The deck path along the valley continues, but it is somewhat shorter than expected. If you park at the public parking lot of Sanasa Valley, you can easily find it by walking a short distance.
