When I go to Sokcho, I always find myself rushing through the schedule without taking a moment to relax. So, I found the Two Some Place cafe in front of the dock. It’s a hotspot that offers a decent ocean view, especially overlooking the Sokcho inner harbor. The cafe has seating on the 1st to 3rd floors, and my preference was the view from the higher floors. Whether enjoying morning coffee or indulging in sweet cakes, it’s a perfect place for a healing time. The cafe’s operating hours are from 9 am to 9 pm, and although parking might be a bit inconvenient, it’s worth a visit.
The cafe is located right in front of Sokcho dock, providing a nice view of the Sokcho inner harbor. There are seating options with a view on all three floors. The best seats are, of course, the ones overlooking the harbor. There are options on the 2nd and 3rd floors, as well as on the 1st floor. They even have special drinks for kids, and they offer both handmade and pre-made beverages.
The cake menu is a bit limited in some stores, but Two Some Place seems to be focusing more on cakes lately. Personally, I’ve been unsure about the taste of Two Some cakes that I’ve tried before. However, many people rave about the cakes at Sokcho Two Some Place. I’ll have to try a cake and see which one is the most delicious next time. Any recommendations for the best cake?
They also have a variety of tumblers, but these days, tumbler designs all look quite similar. I have several tumblers from various coffee shops at home, still unopened in their packaging. Maybe I should give it a try myself.
I wanted to try a sweet Two Some cake, but I had a drinking appointment in the evening, so I resisted. The goal was to focus on the cafe as much as possible for a healing time with coffee and sweet cake before the appointment.
There are various options like ice cream croffle and macarons. Having coffee and sweets makes you feel so happy.
I was curious about the White Forest Cream Cake, as I’ve mostly tried strawberry cakes from Two Some before. Did I buy it? No, because I had plans to have some drinks and soju in the evening. I resisted the temptation.
I wanted to have a simple tea time with a slice of cake, but since I already had plans for seafood and soju in the evening, I refrained from further food consumption for the time being.
The menu is visible, and if you select and enlarge the photos, you can see it clearly. Not all seats are by the ocean view; there are seats on the opposite side with a view of the old houses in Sokcho, facing the alley of the central market. It’s not necessarily a bad seat; it depends on personal preference.
If you sit on the 2nd or 3rd floor and choose a seat facing the inner harbor, you can see both the Geumgang and Seorak bridges. Although not shown in the pictures, both bridges light up beautifully in the evening, enhancing the picturesque view.
As the evening approaches, the number of customers taking the boat tour decreases, and lights start to illuminate the harbor. It was a bit disappointing that I couldn’t stay any longer due to evening plans, but the cafe offered a pleasant view of the small harbor.
The next morning, I returned for a cup of morning coffee. The 1st floor also provides a view of the harbor right in front of the boat dock.
The business hours of Sokcho Two Some Place at the boat dock are from 9 am to 9 pm. It’s a bit early to close in the evening, which is a bit unfortunate. The enjoyment of watching the night view of both the Geumgang and Seorak bridges is quite fascinating, but unfortunately, they close a bit early.
They even sell panda-shaped umbrellas, which was briefly interesting.
Looking at the Sokcho Geumgang Bridge while capturing an ocean view moment. In the morning, enjoying a warm Americano with a sweet castella.
On the day of returning to Seoul, I wished I could stay one more day. Capturing a moment with the Sokcho boat and the background of Cheonghodong Abai Village, it’s a Sokcho cafe recommendation. It was disappointing to find no suitable cafes along the coastal road to Oeongchi Beach and Sokcho Beach. However, unexpectedly finding a cafe like this, where I could sit quietly and heal, made me wonder why I had been looking for a cafe so desperately.
There weren’t many people taking the boat early in the morning. The view of the Geumgang Bridge and the Sokcho boat dock, Abai Village, and the inner harbor in the morning is delightful. Returning in the morning for another cup of morning coffee while enjoying healing time with a quiet atmosphere and the taste of sweet castella was truly pleasant.
Capturing the interior from the 3rd-floor seat with a view of the harbor. It was early in the morning, and there were no customers, which was perfect.
Indeed, having morning coffee
- While there are many renowned recommended cafes in Sokcho, it’s worth visiting at least once.
- The opening and closing hours are slightly short: 9 am to 9 pm.
- All three floors offer a view of the dock. Both morning and evening times are delightful, but the evening offers a more beautiful Sokcho ocean view
