Recommended Sokcho hotels with an ocean view of Cheongchoho: Sunrise Hotel.

Sunrise Hotel Sokcho: Satisfying Both Cheongchoho and Ocean Views

However, the view varies by room. City view, half ocean view, and Cheongchoho view. Among them, the most popular is probably the Cheongchoho view. It would be even better if you are assigned a higher floor.

Cheongchoho and East Sea ocean view from a high floor: Cheongchoho is inside the red bridge, and the East Sea is outside.

Cheongchoho is a famous lagoon in Sokcho, a natural lake formed where fresh water and seawater meet. In addition to Cheongchoho, Sokcho has another famous lagoon called Yeongnangho.

  • 5 minutes walk to Sokcho Central Market
  • 30 minutes walk to Dongmyeong Port (basic taxi fare)
  • 7 minutes walk to Abai Village and Gaetbae Wharf

Geographically, it’s one of the best.

The front view of Cheongchoho from Sunrise Hotel alone makes it one of the recommended hotels in Sokcho.

Room conditions vary. I booked through Airbnb, and the room condition, view, and floor level vary depending on the host, so keep this in mind when booking.

When I arrived, I lay down on the bed immediately, and the sheets were somewhat wrinkled. Haha.

The terrace is rather small. It’s perfect for sitting in a chair on the terrace and having a cup of coffee while enjoying the view of Cheongchoho.

In weather like this, it’s nice to have some light snacks or dried snacks with a cold beer or a highball.

The view from the veranda: Among Sokcho ocean view hotels, this might have the best view. A similar view might be found at Yeongnangho Resort with a view of Yeongnangho.

Whenever I come to Sokcho for business, I often use this room. It’s a bit more expensive than other hosts, but the overall condition was not bad.

The cups are pretty too. It seems the host takes good care of it. There seems to be no shortage of kitchenware.

Zoomed-in photo of a distant boat: To the left of the bridge, you can see Sokcho Abai Village, which is easily accessible by taking a gaetbae (small ferry). It’s worth a visit.

Night view of Sokcho Sunrise Hotel: Probably the top for night views?

A night view that is hard to see anywhere else: I think there are very few hotels with such a beautiful night view of Sokcho. If I were to recommend a hotel in Sokcho, this is almost always my top choice.

The veranda fence is high enough to be safe, but with so many poorly constructed buildings these days, I feel a bit uneasy leaning on the terrace railing. However, there are very few hotels offering such a beautiful night view of Sokcho ocean view, so I enjoy this moment.

From spring to fall, it’s great to have a drink on the terrace while enjoying the night view or to have a cup of coffee and relax.

Review of Sunrise Hotel Sokcho with Half Ocean View of Cheongchoho

  • Each host on Airbnb may offer rooms with different conditions and views.
  • Most rooms seem to have cooking facilities, and built-in washing machines as well.
  • Sokcho Central Market is within walking distance, and Dongmyeong Port is within basic taxi fare distance, making the hotel’s location quite good for accommodation in Sokcho.
  • There is a large Emart24 convenience store on the first floor of the building, stocked with almost everything like a small supermarket.
