The Dongmyeonghang Crab Village in Sokcho offered great value for its crab dishes.

In 2024, my first visit to Sokcho.

I used to come here two or three times a year, but this year is my first.

And there’s Sokcho Dongmyeonghang, a place I often visit.

There, I encountered Sokcho crabs.

Along with great value for money,

It’s a place where you can taste freshly steamed crabs.

I arrived in the late afternoon, and by the time I finished eating,

it was already evening.

I must have been so engrossed in delicious food

that I didn’t notice the transition to night. 😂

Located just a little inside the entrance of Dongmyeonghang,

Past the places promoting famous Sokcho crabs on the outside.

Don’t be tempted by other places on the way here.

Come straight here.

(I’ve tried a few places, but this one is the best. 😂)

There’s a reason it’s been featured in the media.

It’s a place polished by the delicious dishes.

The tanks were full of crabs,

so much so that it’s not an exaggeration to say they had the most crabs in the area.

I took a look around the Sokcho Dongmyeonghang Crab Village Aquarium.

I captured the sight of steaming crabs at Sokcho Dongmyeonghang Crab Village.

The video shows that you need to look up to keep the innards from spilling out.

It seems they want to show how the crabs I choose are steamed.

Even before tasting the delicious dishes, Superman had returned here.

There’s a reason for everything. There was. 😉

The dishes were all set with nearly 20 side dishes,

including various seafood dishes like raw fish,

miyeokguk (seaweed soup), spicy stingray, mushroom tempura,

abalone, and sea snails from the East Sea.

Although it was just a taste of raw fish,

there was no shortage of appetizers before trying the steamed crabs.

Neat side dishes.

Each dish was neatly prepared without anything missing.

Among them, the squid sundae caught my eye.

I intended to try it at Sokcho Jungang Market,

but after coming to Sokcho Dongmyeonghang Crab Village,

I realized it was worth the money and thought about cost-effectiveness.

I don’t remember what kind of pancake it was,

but it was truly delicious with its thin coating of flour.

I think the boss could open a pancake shop too.

Deep-fried red crab legs.

Almond-filled salad.

Mushroom tempura.

It provided a healthy taste.

From now on, I’d choose this over meat tempura!

The tangy and sweet mulhoe (raw fish soup).

There’s no need to go out for mulhoe.

Enjoying mulhoe at Sokcho Dongmyeonghang Crab Village was as satisfying as at a specialized restaurant!

“A serving of raw fish.”

It melts in your mouth.

“Ojingeo sundae (squid sundae).”

With the egg water, it melts gently in your mouth.

“Donghaean golbaengi (sea snails from the East Sea).”

A specialty you can taste only in the East Sea.

“Abalone.”

A healthy menu that gathers all the dishes you want to eat.

The crispy and tender red crab legs.

You’ve arrived, perfectly chewed crabs.

Only have a few spoonfuls of the innards.

You’ll need them later for crab shell rice,

and you’ll need crab guts for crab rice.

Even just dipping crab meat into the innards brought out a different taste.

It was more than enough for 2-3 people.

Of course, if you’re a big eater, two people would be enough.

There’s usually a prejudice that crabs are difficult to eat,

but at Dongmyeonghang Crab Village, they cut them beautifully and make them easy to eat.

Ramen service.

Cook the innards slightly in water with green onions and bean sprouts,

add seasoning powder, and when it’s boiling, pour in a shot of soju,

and when it’s almost ready, add ramen.

You can’t forget the taste of the broth.

I ordered another bottle of soju with the broth. (Quietly.)

“Crab shell rice.”

You can’t help but salivate.

Even though I was so full,

I couldn’t help but eat a spoonful of rice with crab shell rice topped with spicy dried squid.

I went in the afternoon, but before I knew it, it was evening.

After eating, I enjoyed the Yeongnangjeong night view just in front of me,

and it seemed like I had digested well and sobered up.

Sokcho Dongmyeonghang Crab Village offered great value for money.

✔ It’s important to find hidden gems rather than flashy signs on the main road.

✔ Even the side dishes were exceptional.

✔ It’s also a great place to see the Yeongnangjeong night view, just a 1-minute walk away after your meal.
