On the way back from a business trip to Cheongju, I happened to come across a Baekam Sundaegukbap restaurant in Baekam-myeon, Yongin, while driving on the national highway.

Looking for the most famous Sundaegukbap restaurant nearby, I was fortunate enough to find and park at this well-known eatery.

KBS, MBC, SBS, and various other broadcasting stations have covered this place extensively.

Parking is available at a public parking lot operated behind the building, and it tends to be quite busy overall.

For those who don’t want to worry about parking fees, there is also a Nonghyup Hana Bank parking lot right next to it and across the street.

Baekam Sundaegukbap is located at 11 Baekam-ro 201beon-gil, Baekam-myeon, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Parking can be a bit tricky, but there is a public parking space operated behind the building.

When you turn into the alley, be cautious as there are quite a few parked cars.

Baekam-myeon in Yongin is not as big as one might think; it has become known for its Sundaegukbap in this small city.

The menu includes assorted sundae, osorikamtuk (pig’s feet and ankles), and Baekam Sundaegukbap priced at 9,000 won.

The Sundaegukbap is served with tolyeom (milled barley) and, unfortunately, the tolyeom process was a bit lacking.

I arrived early in the morning, and the rice in the soup was somewhat cold, which was the most disappointing part.

Although various social media platforms are filled with praise, addressing these improvement points is essential.

What I appreciated the most is that they use domestically sourced ingredients, including pork, rice, cabbage, and red pepper powder.

✅ Additionally, it has been featured in diverse media outlets and channels, including the previously mentioned “Suhyoomisikhoi.”

Another disappointment was the kimchi and pickled radish, which did not suit my taste. (Of course, this is a subjective opinion.)

Especially, the pickled radish…

I’m not sure if it was recently pickled or not, but it lacked the depth of flavor and was neither fully pickled nor freshly made—an unsatisfactory taste for me.

There is no additional menu for gopbaegi (additional serving) here.

The broth is plentiful, and the rice comes in the form of gukbap (rice in soup).

It’s a bit disappointing that the broth is not as hot as it could be.

The broth is abundant, the meat is generous, and there is a fair amount of green onions.

However, as mentioned earlier, the rice and broth were not well integrated, causing them to separate.

The meat quantity was more than sufficient, and I did not feel that it was lacking while eating.

It includes head meat, various pork offal, and Yongin Baekam native sundae without any sense of insufficiency.

Particularly, Yongin Baekam Sundaegukbap differs from regular pig sundae; it is filled with various vegetables in pig intestines.

Moreover, the clean broth without any gaminess was another charming aspect.

You can enjoy the original taste of the broth as it is or add the provided daedae (seasoned soy sauce with green onions and garlic) on the table for a slightly spicy flavor.

Various pork offal is included.

It feels like going to buy sundae and adding various offal such as pig ears and nose to taste.

In addition to the longstanding Sundaeguk restaurant in Yongin Baekam, there are also several side dishes such as sundae assortment.

It would have been better if the broth was a bit warmer.

✅ It’s worth visiting on the 1st and 6th of every month, which is Yongin Baekamjangnal (market day).

✅ The warm atmosphere and kindness felt on rural market days are an added bonus.

Concluding this review of Yongin Baekam Sundaegukbap, what stood out was the clean broth without any pork smell and the kindness of the elderly owner.

Perhaps the person in the photo seems to be of an older generation…

It’s essential that those who inherit the owner’s sincerity and original intentions take good care of the place.
